Ned Phillips
Ned Phillips is a filmmaker based in Durham, North Carolina. He graduated from Goucher College and went on to earn a certificate in Documentary Arts from the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University. Since then, he has shot and/or edited multiple films and music videos, including the documentary feature Truth Underground (2016) and rapper G Yamazawa's hit video North Cack (2017). Ned's directorial debut, The Maestro (2018), was an official selection at RiverRun International Film Festival. In 2025, Ned won an Emmy at the Midsouth Regional Emmy Awards for his collaboration with PBS North Carolina on a documentary short about muralist Gabriel Eng-Goetz. Ned’s newest film, The Last Partera (2025), premiered at Full Frame Documentary Film Festival.
Bradley Bethel
Bradley Bethel is a high school English teacher and filmmaker originally from Toledo, Ohio, but now living in central North Carolina. He has produced multiple films, including the documentary shorts Radioactive Veteran (2016), Robeson Rises (2018), and The Maestro (2018), all of which screened at film festivals across the country. From 2019 to 2023, Bradley was the director of Carrboro Film Fest, and he continues to serve on the festival’s advisory committee. Combining his passions for literature and documentary film, he has become especially interested in documenting the ways literature can have a profound impact on people’s lives. Bradley is the director of "Ranger of the North," an upcoming documentary short about a retiring park ranger whose career and philosophy have been inspired by the novel The Lord of the Rings.
